I have a divorce case going for nearly 2 years and received Decree Nisi and can apply for Decree Absolute.

For the finances we tried many ways including and could not reach conclusion. Now there is a court First Appointment scheduled early June, however it could get delayed due to pandemic situation.

The question is, is safe / wise to apply for Decree Absolute so that divorce can be done, then continue with financials afterwards? Note I am financially in stronger position.

Your guidance will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Only thing to be aware of if either of you die after the Absolute but before the finances had been sorted then the survivor wouldn't get a widows/widowers pension.

If you're happy with that apply for Absolute.
