What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

I received my ex husband's reply to my questionnaire 15 days late, and with the response he left out most answers and only partially answered others and did not supply requested paperwork. I have filed a penal notice and done a statement of deficiencies.
What he has done though was to attach a response to my chronology, and is challenging it, changed his initial statement of issues and added additional points and asked additional questions against than his original questionnaire. He has not sought directions from the court but wrote to me directly. Do I have to answer them before our 2nd hearing? Or Can I respond on the day of hearing? As this option I would prefer as he has told many lies and I don't want to give him the heads up beforehand, for him to come out with yet another lie.
Many thanks in advance as so far all of your replies have been incredibly helpful, in particular Charles.
