What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
Can anyone let me know what I should do about listing the Disability Living Allowance that I receive for my child? do I put it as benefits I receive as I understand that this is money for my child and not me its just that he is not old enough to receive it??? or should I just comment about it but not add it in? I am unsure as I know when I applied for working tax credit etc they didn''t want to know about it as it is money for son and not me???:S

Personally I would add it in. It is a non means tested benefit awarded for non monetary reasons which is why it wouldn''t have been included in your means tested benefits.

If you think about it, CTC CB etc aren''t for you either they are for the children. :)

In my form E I put a note in Section 3.1.2 that "costs for my daughter''s additional needs, contact lenses and mobile ''phone have been included in 3.1.1 above and are partially covered by her DLA".

As DLA is to cover the extra help that the person receiving it needs because of their disability I don''t think it should be included in your income. It is not for day-to-day expenses and someone receiving DLA will have extra costs. For an stbx to question this would seem callous to say the least.

Don''t know if it would be relevant.... But what about submitting your sons letter of entitlement with the form? Mine lists all of my disability and needs. It may help and there can be no arguement then as it is black and white?
