What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi

I wonder if anyone can advise please?

My Very soon to be X wife has taken out at least one credit card in her name that I know of, and obviously when shes gone from the house I need to make sure these never get associated with me.

Do I need to contact Experian and the like and advise them she no longer lives at my address and divorced or anything else at all please?

She has been made bankrupt in the past and if shes careless and goes down this road again I dont want my name being involved.

Thanks

D

Hi,

If these Cards are in her sole name then the ultimate responsibility lies with her. It certainly wont do any harm to review your credit profile with Experian in case any are joint

Thank you, they are in her sole name, I just didnt want the house to be under threat if shes stopped payment.

Thanks again
