Hi, my name is Kate.
I''m divorced more than 6 years. But we still have a joined bank account together because he has been using that account for all those years. I didn''t touch that account at all.
I didn''t have a reason to worry until now. He made a debt 1500£ and the bank sending me papers and making me nervous... He is not living in the Uk anymore. Please, could you tell me if I can do something about my situation? I would be grateful for your help. Thank you.

Unfotuantely if there is a joint account then you do have ''joint and several liability'' for any debt on that account.

You can freeze the account to stop any additional debt building up.

Get the account frozen before anymore money is withdrawn.

Worst case scenario is you will have to pay it back.
