What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I am starting the process for divorce. My husband has stayed in the part own part rent property and I am with my mum. I have nothing at all.. just left without anything. He has a pension pot through work, the home and also I found out he had an inheritence recently.. I then found out that he is in an IVA so they have taken the inheritance. (we had all seperate accounts and finances)

Do I have any rights or as he is now on an IVA there is not really any point in persuing as he clearly doesnt have anything!

We have no children together but he has his child from his first wife on a weekend.

Any advice welcome

Well there is clearly a pension pot. Is there any equity in the half of the house you own?

How long were you married? What are your ages and incomes?
