What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need legal advice on a fair financial settlement?

We offer a consultation with experienced family solicitor for a low fixed fee. You will receive legal advice and a written report outlining your legal position and setting out what a fair settlement would look like based on your individual circumstances.

I have to go back to mediation this Friday and am still unclear as to wether he would be entitled to 30% of my savings and 30% of all the equity in the house... please can someone help, Citizens advice weren''t helpful and the solicitor wants another £195 to advise?

kmm, it is not a question of entitlement, it is about how to meet the needs of each party and the children ... with PWC and children a priority.
You need to answer the questions about income etc that were posed in my last post please.

The children are both 3, the house is valued at 285k, remaining mortgage 227k. We lived together for 12 years, have been married for 5. Neither of us have pensions. I receive child benefit, child tax credit and working tax credit totally approx. £700 per month). He had 9k in ISA’s I have 17k in ISA’s. He does not have the children any evenings or weekends and does not pay any maintenance. He has not worked for 6 months and hadn’t claimed jobseekers allowance because he doesn’t want to work. He lives with his parents and had no bills to pay. My income is 1500 per month.
