What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

I am trying to complete this financial assessment form for legal aid. Just a couple of questions?

It asks "Is your partner the opponent in the case you are applying for legal aid?" Then says "We use the word partner to mean a person you are married to or live with"

Ok...simple? But I am now divorced, so is he my "partner" or not???

Am I being thick???
