Hi. I am self employed and my solicitor mentioned I may be able to apply for Legal Aid, as my payslip only states my salary pr month as £734. However as I said to him, in reality the dividen I take brings my total take home pay every month to £2000. My solicitor said that dividend only figures after the 12 months, in June 2021 in my case, and if say there is not enough money in the business for tax and vat that dividend taken will have to be repaid, therefore he says, it is not seen as actual salary until June 2021. I worry this is incorrect? I don't want to be seen as lying. My divorce is on grounds of mental and physical abuse. Thank you for any advice in this matter.
As your income say 9 thousand if Dividend not taken but savings are taken into account, all in all, the total has to below 18 thousand and if x has not applied for Legal Aid through any sort of violence if your x has you have to pay your own fees that's what a lot have done so that they have no financial implications that's what I was advised by my solicitor.
