What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Is anybody happy to give me some advice on what to expect at this hearing?
I am seeking a Maintenance Order as well as the recovery of £10.000 CSA arrears. I have been adviced that it might be easier to claim that CSA arrears under the Maintenance Regulations 2011. Anyone able to help and/ or share?

Did your maintenance arrears occur after your ex had left the UK?
We have just been through the REMO loop in Germany and had it dropped. To cut a very long story short, we informed the CSA when we left the UK and we have a letter from the CSA to say from that day our case was closed as CSA have no authority here. My partners ex could only claim maintenance arrears from when the court order for maintenance was awarded, which was some years later.
REMO only has a possibility to enforce and is not 100% guarantee. Your sol should advise you of the best route to take.

No, case closed this January and arrears are in the thousands. Would be great to talk more as my hearing is on 12.04 and I am not clear what to expect. Would you be happy to contact me through privat messages and we can arrange to talk? Thanks, very much.

Hi anette,

I have a very similar situation. Ex left for India after Consent Order drawn up. Has failed to pay any maintenance to me or the children since. What do you suggest are my options. I think Remo operate in India. Should I contact them first? thanks.
