What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, I am looking for details on anyone who has applied for Joint lives- and gotten it,

Or has applied and not.

Or has been the lucky individual to have to pay?

I keep hearing this is likely but I dont know anyone recently who has been awarded it.

I doubt anyone will reply to this, the only wiki member on site right now who had a joint lives order is littlemrmike, sadly his ex wife died not long ago so he was of course released from the order.

Hi,

My husband has the dubious pleasure of being in recept of a joint lives order to his ex-wife in December 2008.

He has to pay her £8000 per year. It was £11,500 until June 2011 whilst his son was at college.

I have posted a number of questions abour challenging the joint lives order over a period of time, but nothing recently.

What is it you would like to know?

If you PM me I will try and send you the links to the previous posts to give you more information.

Best wishes.
