What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Wow, I''d be thrilled with no spousal maintenance! If only we could get off that cheaply. We''ll probably have to give her 80% of the house + maintenance. Boo.

It totally sucks working with a little one. I''ll be doing the same soon.

Wine helps, I''m having a large one right now!

He pretty much told her he''d drag it out and run up tens of thousands of pounds of legal bills for her if she didn''t agree something reasonable. Don''t know if your fella can liaise directly? It''s not signed yet, so could still go pear-shaped. Hope you get the best result and good luck with your little one.
