What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Out of £150k you''ll get 20% a judge won''t sign off on zero.So that''s £30k.
With her bagging 80% of the assets that''s your bargaining chip for not paying spousal maintenance.
On £30k gross I spose you take home £1980 a month theres no way that a court would order any more than £400 on spousal but think that''s highly unlikely although not impossible. There''s no guarantees. If you aren''t looking for a lot of money for yourself I would self represent otherwise like me you''ll find out you''ve racked up a load of solicitors bills to give all your money away anyway.
All the best

Hi Hawaythelads
Thanks for the advice, dont think I''m getting away lightly but its good to know what I may have to accept if we cannot resolve.

With respect to the spousal maintainence what do you think the likelyhood of that would be, and over what time frame. Also would a lump sum be possible to ensure a Clean Break.
