What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your e-mail, there is nothing on the HMCS website regarding pension sharing on Divorce as it is a legal matter. We as HMCS are not legally trained therefore we cannot give or publish any legal advice. I can only suggest that you seek independent legal advice.

Regards

LOL i love these replies.

Can you imagine if you wrote to , lets say , Virgin Atlantic asking for information on flights to New York and they replied...

We at Virgin Atlantic are not aeronautically trained therefore we cannot give or publish any flying advice. I can only suggest that you sprout wings and fly there yourself.

LOL :silly:
