What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Rather than take her word for it ask for written CETV, it does sound small to say the least.

Sorry, I was assuming that the figure quoted was from a CETV. If it isn''t then getting a copy of the CETV is certainly the first step.

I would definitely be asking for a copy of the CETV, make sure its up to date.

Also be aware that a final salary scheme cetv made up before 31st march might not actually include that years contributions.

My partner ex claimed in mediation that her income had dropped from £2200+ pcm to £1700, when she had only reduced her hours by 2 hours a week. Funny when he asked to see her current payslip to prove this at the next session. She ''''forgotten to bring one'''' and didnt try to claim her income had dropped again!!

How much would you pension be worth without the 5 years pre relationship contributions. As there is 5 years in your age I dont think it would be unreasonable not to include this amount in the calculations.
