What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
I am going through the FDR and need any advice or guidance on Pensions:
Married living together for 15yrs separated since 1997.
I left the rented family home and all marriage assets to the other.
I have an Armed Forces Pension valued around £40k.
Can anyone give advice on what to expect on the split,ie, 50/50 or what?
How much they get even thou at the time of the split they were only 33yrs and employed but now on Income support due to health reasons and living with another partner. They have made an allegation on form E that the violence they experienced during the marriage has caused them to develop Bipolar(lies), reason for divorce was Irretrievable breakdown divorce petition filled by them. any info greatly appreciated.

Depends on circumstances, ages, incomes, what else there is to split really. Are you still married or did you divorce 15 years ago in 1997?
