I was contacted by a client recently whose pension sharing order had not been implemented and she was looking for advice on what to do.
Not too unusual you might think but the date of the order was 2003! She has been divorced since this date.
We are now working towards getting this implemented asap but is likely that her share of the CETV will be lower because the husband has taken benefits in the meantime (not to mention the risks involved during this static period).
Plus she cannot go back to the original solicitors and complain because she would be time barred.
So once the orders are finalised make sure you take control of what happens next. Please don''t assume that the court or your solicitor will arrange implementation automatically.
Delays do occur but 9 years is far too long!
PS this equalled my record for the longest outstanding PSO so it is not an isolated case.
