What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My partner has just started his divorce,he and his wife have lived separate lives for years and separately for 3 years now. They have both lost parents and have recieved property and money in the past. They are not claiming any of this from each other and are basically just going to divide the house value, she will pay him off with her inheritance. She has insisted she wants none of his pension, which neither of us can really understand, maybe she got more from her mother than he knows about.Anyhow my question is, do they have to list all assets on either side whether they are spiltting them or not,he is using Wiki fixed price divorce and all it asks is what agreement they have come to.So does he just say the house spilt?

Its better to list everything and detail what is being shared, and how, and what is being retained by the parties.

As your partner is using our service, he can call/email his case manager, or call the Wiki helpline if he has any questions :)

Thanks....the part about the asset split just asked what had been agreed, will there be a section to list it all further down the line then?

If the agreement is that only certain assets are to be shared, and others are to be retained, then that is what he should list :)
