What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

My Decree Absolute was 18th august and a 50% split pension sharing order made in my favour. Unbeknown to me i had to contact my pension provider and ask for them to contact the exs providor to start the transfer. To date the exs pension provider have made no contact with my provider even though mine have sent a follow up request form requsting the information needed. His company will not divulge any information to me. Do i have to just keep waiting. Im worried i wont ever get it the way everything seems to have stalled.

Thanks for reply...yes the Consent Order and pension annexe were sent to my pension provider who kept a copy for their records and in turn sent both documents to the exes provider along with a form requesting the transfer. That request has been made twice since the divorce and my pension provider say they have still not replied. Will this have to go back to court ? Do i ask my solicitor to intervene ? What should be a simple process has now turned into a waiting game again. I suspect my ex knows the share has not left his pension and is it was not an amicable divorce due to his affairs etc i am in no position to write letters to him requesting he contact his pension company. As i understand things from my pension company they are waiting for a tax ref no and one more piece of info to which they can release their banking details to his provider, but as already said they are not replying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
