What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi There. This is probably a silly question, but I am panicking a bit.
My ex lives in a house that is in both of our names with our two kids.
She remarried, but is divorcing after a year of marriage. They have no children together.
I have been supporting her and the kids financially; the new husband hasn't had a steady during the time they've been together. He hasn't contributed to the house and assets at all.
Is there any way that he could be entitled to a share in the house?
Thanks for any help.
