What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

Hi can anyone help with my query. I have moved out of matrimonial home in to rented accomodation. The Mortgage and title deeds are in joint names. I no longer contribute towards the mortgage or bills. No divorce proceedings have yet been instigated. Can you please advise if I need to lodge Form HR1 with Land Registry or is the fact that I am on the mortgage/deeds enough? Thanks

Filing HR1 is standard practice, its still wise to send it in if you no longer live in the property.
