What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi, I''m going through divorce and my husband wants me to sign our house in Portugal over to him, but I want a share of the profit when it is sold. Its going to be in the FCO sealed in UK court, but does that have any standing in Portugal. Do I have to make another document over there to cover this and also can I put a Restriction on the registered Title to say I have a beneficial interest? Nightmare!!!

Best to ask a Portuguese lawyer. If you need details of one, message me as I have a professional contact over there.
