What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

There is a difference between difficult and impossible... 2 members have commented. Your advice is clear. I am not looking for a pat on the back saying everything I want to hear. I am under no illusion of possible ''zero'' outcome. What other expenses should I expect if representing myself.Fee for FO has been paid and I have submitted this to court already... Are you suggesting I just don''t do anything else.... If I wanted to stop FO what would I need to do?

I would err on the side of caution also, cookie is probably right though following kennott and Knott there is to say the least a shade of grey, as cookie says you need to speak with a solicitor and take some expert advice after giving the needed detail.

You should expect a costs order for frivolous litigation.

Newlife you need to talk with a solicitor, i am far from able to advise case law though i do know a couple that may have some bearing with this, my gut feeling is that cookie is right and this is futile.

WR behave yourself young lady :)
