Can the amount of a remortgage taken out 5 years ago to cover husbands debts now be recouped when splitting the value of the house in divorce settlement?
The house is in my name only and he did not bring any money to the marriage.
He is insisting on a 50/50 split.

It all depends on the figures and circumstances. You can''t just look at one piece of the puzzle in isolation. It will be taken as a part of the big picture.
