STBX not contributing to mortgage etc. 2
Hi, Can anybody help? STBX walked out of family business at the end of last year and has not worked a day since. He has not ''signed on'' to get any benefits and I am therefore left to pay the £1200 per month mortgage plus insurance etc. He has spent about 7 or 8 weeks so far in Spain close to his parents (English) and he probably lives very cheaply. He has savings - I know this for certain. Can he just not pay his half of the mortgage etc. even though he is jointly responsible without any comeback or can I sue him (cheaply DIY) to get some money from him?
Will I get some money back once the divorce is finalised?

Not sure on getting money back but when my ex left he did not and has not contributed to the mortgage insurances bills ect since. I had to pay it if not would have lost the house and that would have effected my credit rating. The fact he is not working and living abroad I think it will be hard for you to get any money from him, well depending on how much savings he has :(It might be worth you going to see a solicitor some do a free half hour appoitment just to find out your options. or maybe someone else on here may be able to give you some advice.
probably not what you wanted to hear but... all the best Good Luck xx
