What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

Hi everyone.
My wife told me to leave the house 2 months ago. I should add, she''s having an affair with a co-worker and her behaviour has been intolerable. I had no problem leaving and have tried my best to keep everything friendly for the sake of the 2 boys. I have since began renting another property for myself with rooms for my boys when I have them.
Now I''ve been having angry calls from the landlord of the marital home as the rent has not been paid, which we had agreed she would start paying herself. My name has not been removed from that rent agreement yet, foolish I know, but I believed she would take care of it. I''m paying her money for the boys on a weekly basis, but I have my own rent to pay now and definitely can''t afford anything else.
I can see things getting ugly now with the self-serving, materialistic, manipulative, lying jezebel that she''s become. She most likely spent the rent money(which the landlord is chasing me for) on new shoes and clothes and the rest has funded her social life. I know I must now get my name removed for a start, but all I''m worried about now is the boys being affected, having to move away from their friends etc because she gets evicted. I simply can''t pay her rent,I''m feeling lost at the moment,so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards,Pete

What kind of tenancy do you have?

LittleMrMike is probably the person to speak to about this one.

is it a joint tenancy or do you have separate agreements? When does it end?
