I disagree with the judge and therefore with you. You're not a solicitor by any chance are you?
The overall impression I get from his article is that he wants solicitors and counsel to do all the work and present him with a consent order to stamp.
As far as I can tell from the practice guidelines, the judge's job is actually to look into the matter and do a bit of thought himself as to what sort of a settlement would be appropriate. This is not reflected in his article.
I can't believe that you actually agree with everything he said!
