What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Hi
I have received a "certificate of entitlement to a decree" from the court today.....is this a Decree Nisi as it dosn''t say? It also says the court has fixed 11th June for the pronouncement of a decree! Would this be for the Deree absaloute?? Will the court send me a form to fill in for this at a later date?

Best Birthday present i have ever had!! :)

It just means the judge is allowing the divorce and the date given is the pronouncement of the decree Nisi, once you have that you then wait six weeks and one day then send in form D36 to have the Nisi made Absolute, oh and it costs £45, which for the most part seems to be good value for money.
