What other costs to allow for beyond petition?

So far I have paid a solicitor £514 to draft a Consent Order,based on mine and stbx mutual agreement and of course will be paying £340 to submit my D8 Petition.

What other costs do I need to budget for,beyond this stage?

(Process thus far has been aided by reasonably co-operative and mutual agreement from stbx...........)

Is it £514 just for the consent order or is that the divorce as well, if it is its very good value, not as good as wiki at £279 but still good.

The only other costs are

£45 for the Decree Absolute

£45 to have the order sealed in court

Apart from that its whatever other monies the solicitor charges.

Hi No,that is the consent order only at £160 an hour,which involved an 1.5 hour meeting to discuss and a couple of email exchanges,and presumably an hour to write up.Twice the price of wiki!

Anyway stbx has agreed to pay half of that and all other court costs so if we can get it all done for £500 each I will be very happy.

I should add that I have only used a solicitor for the drafting of the consent order as everything else was done via mutual agreement,and the petition has beeen filled in and will be submitted by me.

Did you know the wiki solicitors charge £139 for a consent order, not trying to spoil your day but maybe someone else reading this will save some money in the future.

Oh well,benefit of hindsight!

Though in some ways it was worth it only for the solicitor to have sat down with me,review the facts,check I had considered eveything in the asset division and the overall deal we had reached my (mostly) amicable means,and to reckon we had come to a good arrangement.
