I posted off the divorce forms recently but realised later that I made a basic error and forgot to tick one of the boxes at the beginning of the D8 form.
Do I just wait for the court to send it back to me for amendment and if so do I just tick the correct box and send it back or do I need to write 'Amended' at the top of the page in red ink (for an omission not really an amendment) or is it: write in black ink with red underlining?
Thankyou in advance for any help.

Thanks for replying, Hannah.
The court didn't send the papers back, they sent a copy to the respondent as normal so he's got a copy. I'm now unsure if somewhere down the line the form will come back or if it's ok as it is.

I've emailed them about the error, just a case of waiting now, here's hoping...

The way it works is a bit odd.

The person asking for the divorce sends off 2 copy`s of d8, court send 1 d8 and 1 d10 to the soon to be ex, they complete the d10 and send it back to court.

All happy so far.

The person asking for the divorce then completes 2 more forms d80 (5 versions) and d84.

All well so far.

But, the problem is that often no one looks at the forms until they have all 4 forms.

So you can think all is well for weeks only to find its gone wrong.

As a stop gap some courts have guys who check the forms justice magistrates i think they are called.

Thanks for replying dukey, that explains a lot. I was hoping all was well but now I'm prepared for forms coming back.

I could kick myself for not triple checking - I was so concentrated on the tricky bits of the form I missed a simple box tick. I've had no reply to my email yet either and now have the green light to send the D80 forms off.

I get so nerve wracked I can hardly see straight to fill these various forms in so perhaps it's no wonder I miss a tick box.

It still could be ok, some divorce centres apply the amendment fee with gusto others don't seem to bother, it's a case of wait and see, if they don't ask don't mention, just amend.

If you get stuck call the wiki line, Tel number is on the page at the top, they can talk you through the procedure.

I do wonder if it's worth having a go at these forms to save money, wiki has a service where a solicitor firm will complete the lot for £179, I think, so form D8 D80 (one of five) D84 and D36.
