Is that it or am I missing something was created by catfoley
Hi all more reassurance and advice needed please.

I do hear lots of things about final hearings and other legal \"stuff\" that Im not sure I should know about or not.

If all goes to plan this is what I see happening - is there anything I have missed?

* Nisi will come through soon?
* In mediation to sort finances at the moment
* Once agreement reached check with Sols and get wiki legals to do Court order
* Once done and in due course apply for absolute

Its the absolute I know nothing about - apart from applying do I need to do anything else. Is there always a hearing?

Thanks in advance

Hi Cat,

Very simply : the absolute confirms that you are now officially and finally divorced.
I have never eard of there being a hearing, but no doubt dl will know.

The consent order concerns the finances : once it has been agreed, it is sent off to the court for stamping.
Usually there is no need for you to turn up for that either.
However, the judge may request that you both come for a short hearing - this is in cases where the consent order is written in such a way as to advantage one party.
The judge wants to know if both parties have clearly understood what they are
\" signing up for \" as it were.

If it is still unclear, pm me.
