What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Just a general query pls wikipeeps:)
My partner split with his ex 18 mths ago, since then all attempt to reach a financial settlement have been to no avail.
He attempted mediation, but, she wouldnt go as " couldnt be ar**d"
We understand that since April this year, mediation has to be tried, before any court proceedings. (think!!)
As up until now, she has ignored all sols letters, When the Petition is finally sent to court, are they likely to order mediation for a second time, due to it being filed after Apr??

Thanks in advanc:cheer: e

All that is required is a mediation assessment before you can ask court to help, is she refuses mediation or thinks mediation cannot help you get form FM1 which allows the court application.
