What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

This doesn''t bode well .
I am waiting to go to mediation but am waiting for my pension info .
I am glad to hear you can go in for 121 as I cannot be in the same room as STBX .
His solicitor is pushing me to hurry up with mediation and Iam not feeling emotionally ready to face this ust yet .
Will I be forced to go sooner rather than later or will they just have to wait for my pension info to arrive ?
Is there any point in going to an initial meeting without all the financial info?

Scary, the 121 is just an initial ''consultation'' for the mediator to explain the process and have a bit of a chat before they bring you together. This only happens in the first meeting, after that they bring you together every session. Thats the point to it although it doesnt work for quite a few!

Even if no agreement is reached at mediation if you go through the process you should have a better idea, of what can be agreed, what might be agreed and what the outstanding issues are. That can save both time and money exchanging solicitor letters.
