What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Do you need help sorting out a fair financial settlement?

Our consultant service offers expert advice and support to help you reach agreement on a fair financial settlement quickly, and for less than a quarter of the cost of using a traditional high street solicitor.

Hi..Hey here's me thinking I have put in my petition, originally seen solicitor in July, sent off forms for mediation.....might be in my own place for Christmas???? My you must be rolling in the ailes by now you experienced wiki's, Ha ha, I rang mediation today and politely asked when we would have our first joint meeting. Well they received all my paperwork on the 26th October and received his yesterday and to type up the figures of these documents onto one sheet (income x 2, pension x2, no liabilities, mortgage owing) will take 3-4 weeks!!!!
You need a reason for the downturn in growth????
I should have offered to do it for them...after all I have all the figures here anyway....and it certainly wouldn't take 3-4 weeks even if i typed 1 figure a day. I thought they must be inundated bu no there are actually 4 cases in front of me!!!
Think I may re-train I am obviously in the wrong job.
I mean...Jiminy cricket...rocket science it ain't. What's the delay? AAAAAAAAaaaaarrrrgh.

hi,
too many formalities ,it is very frustrating .
Do swear if it helps.
I never never swear .My x2b made me an offer for settlement -
I was so mad -I rang him and told him
""How generous of you" a big pause then" F OFF" and put the phone down
He was so shocked that he mentioned it to my sister "she swore at me".
It felt good but cannot use this again as will have no effect now.But it did make me feel better and cheered me up.Would have liked to see his face!
we will get there eventually
take care

Hi Blue,

It is a just as well that these 'authorities' do not sell ice-creams:!!!P

What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree it would be much easier if things could be dealt with quickly. Unfortunately it just frustrates us even further to see the snails pace at which some of them work.
It is quite interesting though, you will have to 'swear' on oath;) so better get some practice in.
