What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Is it possible to apply for a divorce through a solicitor without having to go into ancilliary relief or disclosure. I am concerned that I might be shooting myself in the foot as I believe I have more assets than my x2b? Help!
thanks

Hello ladybird yes you can but only if your partner egreas in all aspects money assets usually the main stumbeling block.
instaed of disclosure you complete a shorter version d81 and then make a written agreament with your x a Consent Order (use a sol) then the dj takes a look then the court rubber stamp it all done.
warning if you mislead your x regarding money and assets the case can be re-opened at a later date form d81 as form E (dissclosure) should be full and frank and honest im hopeing to use this methord so good luck to both of us bye for now, dukey
