What are we each entitled to in our divorce settlement?

What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

He just told me...he said he went on the csa calculation website and said all he has to pay is £500...but then again he can put what ever he wants as what he earns....
No the family home was meant to be signed over to him, but as he didn''t pay maintenance for a year then my solicitor advise me not to take my name off the house. The court order WAS made over a year ago....my husband is very controlling and tells me what is going to happen not necessarily what is meant to be...The fh has £200000 worth of equity...but chooses to rent it out as he says he can''t afford the mortgage...yet he wants to buy a smaller house...with what money I ask myself!!!!!! surely if he can afford to buy new house he can afford to pay me what me and the children need?

Hmmmmm, I doubt you can enforce the Court Ordered CM, if either party go to the CSA a year after a Court Ordered CM, then the CSA has jurisdiction.

You need to see the sol, however to sort out the finances and get a Court Order regarding the family home - are you on the Mortgage/Title Deeds?
