Hi, can anyone offer any advice?

I need a direct access barrister in the Coventry area. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Also, does anyone know anything about the costs?

The hearing is listed as ''at risk'' so if it was adjourned would I have to pay again?

My barrister was appointed through my solicitor. At my FH she advised that if I needed further help with my case then I was to contact her chambers as she also does direct access.

I say this as your question implied to me that there may be different sets of barristers and I just wanted to point out that there isn''t.

Do your homework! My barrister said she liked working with me as I knew what I wanted and found everything possible to tool her up to get it for me. She said that some clients want them to hold their hand, advise and dig for everything. she said that this is where it was good to have a solicitor referral and the chamber clerks because they would place clients and barristers together nicely.

Oh thanks Vivi - I thought they were two separate things. That perhaps due to costs you could bypass a solicitor and go straight to certain barristers...

you can by-pass the solicitor! not every barrister does direct access, I think they have to be licensed for it.
My point was that there isn''t a chambers of ''direct access only barristers''
