What does the law say about how to split the house, how to share pensions and other assets, and how much maintenance is payable.

What steps can we take to reach a fair agreement?

The four basic steps to reaching an agreement on divorce finances are: disclosure, getting advice, negotiating and implementing a Consent Order.

What is a Consent Order and why do we need one?

A Consent Order is a legally binding document that finalises a divorcing couple's agreement on property, pensions and other assets.

Thanks for reply, sorry for late response.

You have a good point about the costs. Although the enemy is doing her best to bump mine up as much as possible.

Suppose I will have to grin and bare it one day it will all be over.

I know your post was a while ago, but I'd be grateful if you could please let me know the outcome and if your ex complied with their statements. My ex is not complying and it has me wondering how the process will go. At present we've given their solicitor a schedule of deficiencies.

Thanks for your time.
