Hello all
I was served a petition for divorce from a solicitor from my wife a few months back- the draft court papers etc. But I know for a fact that they have not had sight of the marriage certificate as it only arrived in the post today.

The question is - were they acting unethically?

Thanks

If it's a draft petition then they wouldn't need the marriage certificate to send you the draft. The marriage certificate will only be required when the petition is submitted to court.

So, to answer your question \"were they [the solicitors] acting unethically?\" - no.
