Hi this is my first post ,so please move if in wrong place.
I've been in the divorce process for nearly two years now and I'm not really getting anywhere fast.im very concerned about my bills and currently using a credit card to pay them each month what is gonna lead to bigger problems further down the line.
Would anybody recommend dealing with the divorce my self instead of paying these large bills?
Last week I attended first mediation appointment. Also last week I was advised from my solistitor that my former wife wanted a clean break and a lump sump.im happy to pay the lump sum but I'm very worried that no child arrangements have been made.ideally I would like to sort out child arrangements before the financial side of things.i have big worries about money and job security.divirce proceeding s was issued last year and there has been many months of no replies from my wife's solisitors,I suspect this is due to her having no funds to move things forward. My solisitor advised to sort out financially side and who would be paying costs first but I'm desperate to re establish contact with my children and have a routine for them first.
Any help or advice would be great, thanks in advance
Many people find themselves in such a position, where they are unable to continue affording legal fees. There is no reason why you can not represent yourself going forwards (unless your situation is very complex and the input of a good solicitor will be a benefit). Lots of our members are representing themselves, and using Wikivorce and this forum for help, support and guidance. Wikivorce also offers support services for those representing themselves. How long has it been since you last spent time with your children? How old are they? I agree with you that resolving contact is vital - the longer it is left, the harder it will be to resolve.
