An abducting parent will by definition have left behind the matrimonial home and often much of its contents. Such is the degree of subterfuge in these cases that they may manage to sell it from under your feet, but if they haven’t this can offer you your only chance at leverage: you may be able to win some contact in exchange for money.

Don’t expect the courts to help; as far as they are concerned the abducting parent needs the money to help support the children, so you may find your home taken away from you as well.

Try to spin out the sale of the property as long as you can – once the financial deal is settled the contact may dry up again.
