I can't deny I was getting frustrated; I was completely confused at the divorce petition and everything that went with it. A friend recommended Wikivorce and I spoke to Ruth on the websites Online Chat. All I can say is... Ruth's been outstanding! My petition was looked at thoroughly and everything I asked was explained. I now have a better understanding of what is required and thanks to Wikivorce and Ruth; my Divorce is now ready to be sent!!! I honestly could not have done it alone and this website has saved me from paying solicitors fees and saved me from going crazy!!! Obviously I am at the very beginning of this process and I am sure I will have more confusing stuff to come my way, but I have full faith that Wikivorce will assist me at the next hurdle. Thanks again Ruth & Wikivorce! Merry Christmas Everyone!

This website is a wealth of information and support, I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't found it.
I am still in the very early stages of this difficult process but already I can see I am not alone.
Thank you.

The Wikivorce forum was a godsend when I initially split with my ex 5 years ago, the support and advice was just wonderful when I was in pieces. It was also a great place to find information when I finally filed for divorce 8 months ago as was the Wikivorce helpline. I used the fixed price Wikivorce service (Brethertons) for the divorce itself (used a local solicitor for the Consent Order) and found them helpful and efficient. I received my Decree Absolute last week, so thank you for getting me there Wikivorce.

Really helpful and a genuine lifeline when the going gets tough, RubyTuesday was really helpful and responded quickly ;0) - the forums are sympathetic and useful & your site has kept me sane knowing there are lots of other people going through the same stressful scenarios and worse than mine a lot of the time!
Many many thanks & keep up the good work

A client who used our financial consultation service has sent in this feed back:

The Financial Consultation was incredibly helpful. Rachel was professional, knowledgeable and straight-talking but also really friendly, interested, and human. Sounds obvious, but I had already had one high-street consultation where I was met with total disinterest, so speaking with Rachel was a breath of fresh air.

Family break-up and getting divorced can leave one feeling very vulnerable and seeking help from expensive solicitors. I was determined not to waste my hard earned savings on solicitors although all my friends that knew of my situation advised me to seek legal advice. Solicitors are not your friend, they charge for every second/minute of their time.
A very close friend mentioned Wikivorce, a free helpline.
With nothing to lose I phoned them. Carl answered the phone and the one thing that Carl said and stuck in my mind was 'do not use solicitors as a counselor, they are very expensive counselors.'
I phoned Wikivorce up several times asking questions, at first I seemed to always speak to Carl.
I purchased from Wikivorce a Financial Consultation service for approx ?200. This gave me approximately a 45 minute phone call with a solicitor from Brethertons,Hannah Bridgwood. I also received a detailed report of the conversation. Hannah explained to me what I maybe entitled to.
Over the weeks I continued to phone Wikivorce for help and advice, speaking with Ian and Ruth as well.
I also purchased a Respondent package for divorce from Wikivorce, again Brethertons Solicitors for ?99. I was not in the wrong in my divorce but again I was advised by Wikivorce that divorce is a paper exercise and no one gets to see the petition. To cross petition would cost me up to ?8,000 minimum!!!
Mediation was the most costly expense for me, ?360 per session.
We had 3 sessions and on the third session I put a proposal to my ex. The proposal was very similar to the Financial Consultation session I had with Hannah.
In all this I did not employ a solicitor and my total costs from start to finish were ?1,200 compared to my ex's ?14,000+
I have three people from Wikivorce to thank for all their help and patients and believe me I phoned them whenever I needed advice.
IAN, CARL AND RUTH, you saved me a fortune. I still have my son, home and savings.
THANK-YOU VERY MUCH.
Paul

Thank you so much for the support and guidance with my petition for divorce. I found your service so helpful, reliable and efficient. I was so confused by all the information online and just needed to speak to someone to ease my mind. I know I wouldn't have been able to do it without ur help. I highly recommend your service to others. I found the team to be friendly, approachable, helpful, skilled and it's was clear you are very passionate and committed to the work. This was evident when I would make evening calls and someone always called me back. Thank you again.
In the current climate of legal aid cuts, your service is a life line to many like me.
You have something special here, keep up the good work.
