I thought I would start a thread where we can post ideas of things to do/interesting events at the weekend, either with or without children.

On Saturday, May 4th, Butser Ancient Farm in Hamsphire are holding the annual Beltain Festival:

The Burning of the Wicker Man to celebrate the start of summer. Live bands, bbq, hog roast, falcons and owls and many other stalls and entertainment. Festival atmosphere culminating in the spectacular burning of the wicker man as the sun goes down. The festival starts at 4.30pm. It can get very cold here in the evenings, so bring something warm to wear.

Nestled into the rolling South Downs National Park, Butser Ancient Farm displays ongoing constructions of Iron Age buildings based on real sites, crops from prehistory and rare breeds of animals. There is lots to see and do, and has suitable wheelchair access and is a very child-friendly place.

I will be out Geocaching with my son.
Gets him away from his computer and out into the fresh air.

He loves going, we always take a picnic and I''ve seen places I never knew about, and had some lovely days out.

Whatever you all do, have a good weekend x

The Wickerman Festival in Dumfries And Galloway is a great weekend. Family friendly, for all the music lovers out there.
