I thought I would start a thread where we can post ideas of things to do/interesting events at the weekend, either with or without children.
On Saturday, May 4th, Butser Ancient Farm in Hamsphire are holding the annual Beltain Festival:
The Burning of the Wicker Man to celebrate the start of summer. Live bands, bbq, hog roast, falcons and owls and many other stalls and entertainment. Festival atmosphere culminating in the spectacular burning of the wicker man as the sun goes down. The festival starts at 4.30pm. It can get very cold here in the evenings, so bring something warm to wear.
Nestled into the rolling South Downs National Park, Butser Ancient Farm displays ongoing constructions of Iron Age buildings based on real sites, crops from prehistory and rare breeds of animals. There is lots to see and do, and has suitable wheelchair access and is a very child-friendly place.
Cricket, the IPL (indian premier league) draws to a thrilling end soon, the big games are this weekend, 20-20 cricket with many of the stars of the game from all over the world, crowds of 70,000, frantic games, can the Mumbai Indians win or will it be CSK (Chennai super kings) again, if you wet yourself reading this with excitement don`t worry it happens to the best of us.
