After the form E is presented to my solicitor...what is the score with my finances? Can i spend some if required... do i have to declare any income on going and update things?

If you need to spend money then you need to spend it, but it must be a reasonable expense.

Form E does need to be updated to reflect any change in circumstances or just as time goes by, mostly a letter will do updating the appropriate box`s.
