Hi hoping to get some advice from any one who has been able to claim support for mortgage interest,my current mortgage is on interest only and being payed by other half. For me to keep the house he is not willing to pay off the outstanding amount.i am currently claiming ESA and pip and council tax. As part of the pension sharing order my half would enable me repay the amount in 7 years or if nessary move when I'm back to good health. I understand that this is repayable which I can put aside each month to pay the DWP back . My current lender isn't willing to surport me but surely there would be someone else who will. The house is worth £350,000 and the outstanding amount is £68,000.

I'm in a similar situation my x is a sitting tenant and used the situation of the world (Pandemic) as an excuse not to pay the interest only. It has come a time she has to pay so November will become very interesting as I will not pay as court order she has to. As I have expenses away from the house and not living there why should I pay if not getting any of the benefits just for her to hide behind the children.
