Good book for self Rep's

I've just bought this book from Amazon for £28.99 and wish I'd come across it earlier as it has explained a lot of things I had questions about. It's called Family Law 2008 (Blackstone Legal Practice Course Guide) by Tina Bond, Jill Black and Jane Bridge and explains the whole process in fairly straightforward language.

This is the book that trainee sols use on their post grad course...it is a great basic guide and should have everything in it you would need. Perhaps you would like to do a bookreview for the library Clarkie, so it stays there?

This is just what i've been looking for

I've bought Ancillary Relief Handbook by Roger Bird. It was expensive (around £45 from amazon) but it is detailed and comprehensive and it is making me feel much better informed. And after all, it only amounts to about 15 minutes of a solicitor's time!

I am using "Children Act Private Law Proceedings: A Handbook". Written by His Honour Judge John Mitchell. This is the text recommended by Families Need Fathers.

A very good contents section and index. Everything split into short accessible sections. Very easy to dip in and out of. Explains the issues that matter from the point of view of the Judge, on matters ranging from what constitutes family life in society today, to contact centres, to PAS.

Will give the one you have mentioned a go. Need all the help that I can get!
