Went to court today for a directions hearing, didn't expect anything to come from it, just assumed it would go to a full hearing

For those that don't know my case - see daughter i week a year, contact on Thursdays and every other Monday plus fortnightly contact for 24 hours. daughter not allowed to sleep anywhere apart from my home and grandparents and partner of 4 years not allowed to collect her for contact

Ex wife representing herself, i had a barrister.

My barrister attempted to talk to ex wife in court waiting room - she told him in no uncertain terms to pi** off. We then went in with cafcass for 20 minutes, for the ex wife to be put in her place and be told that fathers do have rights, and just because she is the mother does not mean she can dictate who, what and where sees my daughter.

CAFCASS then gave up as ex was very aggressive and argumentative, so we went before the judge

Judge asked what we had agreed and my barrister told him that ex was unwilling to communicate regarding my daughter.

Judge then told ex that she needs to grow up and advised us all to go into a room to sort it out.

Result - ex agreed to 4 weeks holiday (i asked for 5 because i knew she would try and reduce it)
full weekend contact from friday to sunday
partner to collect on contact days
restriction of overnight contact to be lifted
Cant believe its all over - (well till next time anyway-lol)

All you guys out there that are in my position -please dont give up!!

I never thought that this would be resolved without a full hearing, and i will never know why the ex agreed to it all, maybe she has decided that its not worth fighting me anymore as i will NEVER give up when it comes to my daughter.

For the past 4 years i have spent about £10k over issues with my child and every penny has been worth it.

Good Luck to everyone that has an ex like mine - i really hope that you get the results you want.

Oh madaboutcars I am so happy for you and your daughter. I wish you very many happy times ahead together.

Well done for your perseverance.

What a lovely judge you had there, that is quite encouraging for anyone who has contact issues on here.

I don't personally, but thank you for posting that for all to see.

Take care

Lovely to read good news now and then. I have a friend whose ex was extremely rude to her barrister and the judge gave ex a right ticking off!
