In a panic, any and all advice gratefully received...

Have a hearing tomorrow (conciliation, 3rd hearing in the process...) and my childcare has let me down at the last minute.

I can't make it, and can't contact the court until the morning.

I'm now worrying that this will go down like a lead balloon with the court, and wondering if they can make a ruling in my absence?

I didn't think so as it's supposed to be based on the parties reaching an agreement in order to avoid a full court appearance, but have been searching the web for any guidance and can't find any =(

Anyone got any experience of this?

Lots of thanks!

Can you have the childcarer put this in writing and turn up with the kids in tow...after all this is the reality of your life that we are expected to cope with but given no judicial allowance for...just a thought from someone who has been there and stressed over such obstacles.

Nice thought!

The journey to court takes nearly 3 hours by train and tube though (each way) and the kids are aged 2 and 3.

Have given this lots of thought though now and have decided to opt out of this worrying.

Doing my best, and all for the benefit of the kids, if that doesn't show then I can't do any more =(
