Hi we had our final hearing today but the judge still hasnt made his judgement.
He has asked both parties barristers to send their submissions in by Friday and then he will contact both parties through their solicitors in writing of his decision at the earliest Monday.
Is this normal as were expecting a judgement to be made today?

We were notified in writing two weeks after ours. At least he's showing some consideration of the facts and not just basing it on a hearing.

Sounds like there wasn't time for the barristers to do their closing. It is quite common for them to do it in writing (and it saves you both another fee) and for the judge to then do the judgment in writing. At least you will then be able to reflect on his reasoning.

I once waited 6 months for a judgement...too scared to upset the Court...after profusive apologies, I was advised to never wait more than 3 weeks before chasing up a judgement.

Still no written judgement from the judge from our final hearing 11 working days ago!

Cant believe it has taken this long considering the final hearing was re-scheduled three times as it took longer than everyone thought for the questioning etc.

We just want a decision one way or the other as it all started over a year ago now!
